Assistive Device Distribution Event Held Under MaPInCBR Project

On 21 January 2026, Dipshikha organized an “Assistive Device Distribution” event in Dinajpur under the project titled “The Meaningful Participation and Inclusion of Children and Youths with Disabilities in all Domains of Community Based Rehabilitation (MaPInCBR)”. The project is funded by Liliane Fonds and supported by Centre for Disability in Development (CDD).

A total of 23 children and youths with disabilities received various assistive devices to enhance their mobility, independence, and participation in daily life activities. The distributed items included wheelchairs, special seating chairs, walking frames (walkers), standing frames, corner chairs, and toilet chairs (high commode chairs). These devices were provided based on individual assessments to ensure that each beneficiary received appropriate support according to their specific needs.

The event was graced by Dr. Md. Asif Ferdous, Civil Surgeon of Dinajpur, as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Medical Officers from Dinajpur Medical, the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officers (UHFPOs) of Kaharole and Birol upazilas, and a representative from the World Health Organization.

In his speech, the Chief Guest appreciated the initiative taken by Dipshikha and emphasized the importance of inclusive health and rehabilitation services at the community level. The distinguished guests highlighted the significance of assistive devices in improving the quality of life of children and youths with disabilities and encouraged continued collaboration among government and non-government stakeholders.

The program concluded with the formal distribution of assistive devices among the beneficiaries in the presence of their guardians, community members, and project staff. The event reflected a strong commitment to promoting inclusion, dignity, and meaningful participation of children and youths with disabilities in all spheres of community life.
